Migraines

Migraines

I have dealt with migraines most of my life; the debilitating pain, the vision loss, the nausea. It is one of the worst things I have experienced. I hear from people all the time that say, " I get them" but I don't believe that the body just "gets migraines". There is something else going in that is causing that that has to be discovered. To me, it's like a puzzle, figuring out what is going on in your body specifically that is causing the migraines.

I used to go into the Urgent Care and get a shot that would somewhat ease the pain but never really helped. I've done the nasal sprays, the pills and everything western medicine had to offer. Once I got into natural medicine and true healing, I was able to resolve them almost completely (and continue to work on resolving them all together).

What I have learned: Migraines can often have deeper root causes, and several practitioners emphasize looking beyond simple symptom relief. According to Dr. Charlie, liver stress can play a significant role in migraine development, particularly when the body is dealing with hormonal fluctuations. In his discussion on liver stress and migraines, he explains that during hormonal surges such as pregnancy or throughout your cycle, the liver may struggle to process increased estrogen levels, which can contribute to migraine symptoms. To support liver function in these cases, Dr. Charlie often recommends herbal formulations such as Schisandra Supreme FOUND HERE, Cir Q Tonic FOUND HERE, and Klenz+ FOUND HERE

Dr. Sam Riley approaches migraines from a broader functional perspective, noting that frequent or daily migraines may be connected to ingested allergens such as certain foods or caffeine. He also highlights dehydration as a nearly universal contributing factor. Beyond diet and hydration, Dr. Riley encourages individuals to examine environmental triggers like mold exposure and electromagnetic fields (EMFs), as well as internal imbalances such as blood sugar dysregulation and stress on the liver and gallbladder. For supportive care, he commonly suggests herbal options some the same as Dr. Charlie including Cir Q Tonic FOUND HERE and Kalmz FOUND HERE. For temporary symptom relief, Dr. Riley also recommends applying Sore to Soar Oil FOUND HERE topically over the temples and the base of the neck.

In addition to herbal and lifestyle support, both practitioners emphasize the value of supportive therapies. Chiropractic care, particularly clinics (such as Wish Chiropractic where I go) , that focus on whole body wellness through chiropractic care may help address structural factors related to headaches. Acupuncture has also offered huge relief for me; getting my body back into balance and relieving the root cause of the migraines. Together, these perspectives highlight the importance of evaluating migraines through a whole-body lens, considering hormonal health, liver function, environmental exposures, hydration, and nervous system support when creating a comprehensive approach to migraine management.

I used to get a migraine about once a month that would totally knock me out for days. Now I get them about once a quarter, and they are much less severe. I also know how to catch them early now and use the right herbal and natural protocol. I continue to work through liver decongestion, stuck emotions, and body stagnation to relieve.
