Collagen: What Kind is Actually Best for You and Why?
By: Lorissa Smith

Before modern times our diets were incredibly high in collagen. Collagen is fundamental for strong joints, skin elasticity, muscle and joint movement and more.
I believe we are meant to eat an entire animal nose to tail like our ancestors...all of the collagenous bits and organs too. But since that's incredibly disgusting here are a few other ways to get that collagen…. And if you don't eat meat at all, I have found some options for you too.
You cannot get collagen from plants. It must come from an animal source. Collagen products labeled as vegan will typically come from a collagen supporting supplement like Vit C.
Bone Broth is a really easy and digestible way to get collagen. Just make sure its grass fed AND FINISHED.
Internal: Vitamin C is a great collagen producer. Glyphosate destroys collagen production and I'm convinced this is why people look aged faster and faster these days because of the exponential rate in which humans are consuming glyphosate....anyway..
Camu Supreme FOUND HERE is a great collagen producer along with Glypho X FOUND HERE which will help rid the body of glyphosate. Collagen is also great for stiff joints and aches and pains, not just antiaging. Below I have linked my favorite internal collagen for both beef eaters, as well as a fish based/non beef option.
Topical: My absolute all-time favorite topical collagen product is the Balancing Collagen Cream, FOUND HERE. Iv’e truly never used anything like it and the results are incredible.
Procedures: For collagen production and stimulation, I do facial acupuncture, see providers below. I also do gentle lasers. Ask your local medspa about Sculptra if you want an injectable that stimulates collagen(I have never personally tried this as I steer away from injectables). A PRX Peal is a great way to stimulate collagen. I personal do the NouvaDerm laser at Rejuven8 in Dana Point, CA!
